An Association, registered with the Registrar of Societies (RoS), for Malaysia’s seagoing and shore-based maritime
professionals holding:
Ø Certificates of Competency (CoC) of any grade;
Ø Pilot Licences issued by authorised Malaysian agencies;
Ø Appropriate maritime-affiliated/general degrees & serving maritime-related entities.
Ø Wef 2017, Ratings holding Certificates of Proficiency (CoP) are eligible to join as Associate Members.

know-how, interests and technical

maritime practitioners’ body which
provides expert assistance,
consultations and dissemination to
persons, corporations and technological
transfer programs related to maritime

initiated by the Malaysian Government
with relevant maritime organizations,
be it local or abroad.

Professional Development Programme:
IKMAL shall initiate and encourage the
initial Continual Professional
Development (CPD) programme as an
obligation for all members to attain and
maintain maritime professional
competency.
